BEAUTY FOR ASHES, by The Rev. Cyril M. Armitage M.V.O., M.A., R.N.V.R. (Vicar of Church of St. Bride, Fleet Street, E.C.4). A 24 page booklet published in 1952 covering "The Tragic Hour" when the church of St. Bride (built by Christipher Wren in 1680) was destroyed by incendiary bombs on 29th December 1940 and the subsequent plans for the rebuilding of the church. Contains photographs before and after the devastation and drawings of the rebuilding of the memorial chapel.
