The Mendip Hills are a range of limestone hills situated to the south of Bristol and Bath in Somerset, England. The company concentrated on the reprocessing of the slag and around 1861 the company was sold to the Cornish smelting firm of Treffry and Co. They continued smelting until 1878 and dressed ore by buddling until 1885.
